The short answer

This dataset lists every content management system profiled on Word & Press with its licence, the latest version we checked, what it runs on, its starting price where one is published, and its maker. It is generated from the profiles themselves, so each value is sourced on the linked profile, and it is free to reuse with credit.

CMS DATASET

What’s in it

One row per CMS in our CMS profiles. The columns are the platform’s name and maker, its licence, the latest stable version we checked, what it runs on, its published starting price (where the vendor publishes one), its official website, the address of our profile, the evidence level of that profile and the date its facts were checked.

Where the data comes from

The file is built automatically from the same fields that appear in the key-facts box on each profile, so the two can’t disagree. Each of those facts is listed with its source and check date in the Sources section of the profile. Versions and prices change often; check the date on each row.

Reusing it

The dataset is published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence. You can use it for any purpose, including commercially, if you credit Word & Press and link to this page.
