Due to primary HDD replacement on the server, we had downtime today since 1am EST. Unfortunately, it lasted more then expected. Everything is back to normal now.

This is a plain outage notice. On 5 February 2006, phpWordPress staff wrote that, because the server’s primary hard drive had to be replaced, the site had been down since 1am EST. The outage ran longer than expected. The post ends by saying everything was back to normal.
The notice concerns the company’s own website and support forum. The thread gives no cause for the drive failure and no measure of how long the site was unavailable.
It is the first of three infrastructure notices that month. On 14 February the company announced a move to a faster dedicated server, saying it hoped for fewer outages and better performance. Three days after that, it switched to new forum software.
